San Francisco and Seattle’s Best Cards
There’s never a lack of drama when it comes to the NFC West. For the better part of two decades, San Francisco and Seattle have battled it out in one of the league’s toughest divisions. This Thursday, they’re set to clash, with Seattle holding a 3-2 record and San Fran shockingly at 2-3. Let’s set the table.
Seattle’s holding onto the top of the division by a thread, sitting in first place after going 3-0 to start the season, but have dropped their last two. Meanwhile, San Fran has been ravaged by injuries, playing the 2024 season without Christian McCaffery and missing Deebo Samuel and George Kittle for a few respective games. This has put a ton of pressure on Brock Purdy, who looks okay without his superstars around him. Running back Jordan Mason has been admirable, but the team still looks rough around the edges.
Meanwhile, Seattle is seeing the emergence of Jaxson Smith-Njigba as a weapon in its potent offense, and Geno Smith has been able to set the pace for passers around the league. He still leads all quarterbacks in passing yards and is tied with Baker Mayfield for the second-highest completion percentage in the league, at 71.9%—only behind rookie Jayden Daniels (who also dominates Topps Now releases with his superlative play so make sure to keep an eye out for them).
