Aaron Judge – 2022 MLB TOPPS NOW® Card 1012
If you said you were surprised by the popularity of Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run, we’d have to hold you in contempt of court. On October 4, 2022, Aaron Judge made American League history by belting his 62nd home run to move past Roger Maris for the AL single-season record. He did so on his first at-bat in game 2 of a doubleheader with the Texas Rangers. Befitting this historic moment, the card received a print run of almost 92K.
Julio Rodriguez – 2022 MLB TOPPS NOW® Card 17
Series 1 cover star Julio Rodriguez notched his first-ever MLB hit on April 9, 2022. Rodriguez legged it out for a stand-up double in the top of the ninth and would later score the go-ahead run as the Mariners came from behind to win 4-3 against the Minnesota Twins—an auspicious start for one of the brightest young stars of the game. The print run for this card was approximately 19K.
Shohei Ohtani – 04/01/2018 TOPPS NOW® Card 23
Hitting and pitching phenom Shohei Ohtani took the mound against the Oakland Athletics on April 1, 2018, and collected his first career win in his MLB pitching debut. About six thousand cards were printed on-demand for the first win of a potential Hall of Fame career. This is what TOPPS NOW is all about: documenting history the moment it happens.
Bartolo Colon – 5/8/16 TOPPS NOW® Card 57
Aging like fine wine, the then 42-year-old Bartolo Colon hit the first home run of his 19-year career, becoming the oldest pitcher ever to hit a homer in MLB history. The two-run shot against the San Diego Padres was the first of Colon’s 19-year career, earning him the distinction as the oldest pitcher to ever homer in MLB history. Colon also became the oldest player in MLB history to record his first career home run. Big Sexy’s swing for the ages featured a print run of nearly nine thousand.
On-Card Dual Auto Relic # to 99 – Kris Bryant Throws To Anthony Rizzo To Secure First World Series Title Since 1908 – TOPPS NOW®
Who wouldn’t want to own a piece of the wildest thing to happen to Chicago since O’Leary’s cow decided to burn it all down? One hundred eight years since the Chicago Cubs last won the title, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo combined to record the final out of the 2016 World Series. After 2021, “Bryzzo” would no longer exist as the buddy comedy of Wrigleyville as both players were shipped off to new teams. Thankfully, TOPPS NOW released an on-card dual auto relic #’d to 99. Definitely one of the coolest ways TOPPS NOW has celebrated the baseball season in real-time.
