Baseball cards and HOMAGE vintage apparel are made for each other, literally. The HOMAGE x Topps Throwback Collection combines Topps’ wax pack design history with HOMAGE’s eye for creating some of the best retro-themed sports and pop culture apparel. Previously available only on HOMAGE, we’re excited to announce that the HOMAGE x Topps Throwback Collection is also now available on Topps. This collection is a love letter that blends iconic Topps designs from different sports with HOMAGE’s renowned vintage-style apparel. Whether you’re a die-hard collector, a sports fan, or love dope hoodies and t-shirts, this collection has it all.

The HOMAGE x Topps partnership started in 2014 with Topps First Pitch. This limited edition T-shirt was packaged inside a wax pack that people had to rip to get the shirt. It was a creative way to connect apparel with card collecting, instantly capturing the hearts of collectors and sports fans alike. Fast forward ten years and those nostalgic vibes have only deepened. HOMAGE’s passion for Topps runs deep, and with this throwback collection, they’ve taken design inspiration directly from the beloved Topps logos and wax pack art throughout Topps’ storied history.

HOMAGE X Topps 1981 Topps Logo

The charcoal hoodies and t-shirts inspired by the 1981 Topps logo are true standouts in the collection. The 1981 Topps Baseball set is known for its dynamic and colorful aesthetic, featuring a large, animated team cap in the corner of each card, which gave it a signature look along with teams’ color combinations—like the A’s green and gold or the Padres’ brown and yellow—added a vibrant flair. Whether it was capturing the magic of rookies like Fernando Valenzuela or showcasing legends like Mike Schmidt, the 1981 set radiated personality, and HOMAGE’s apparel channels that same energy with bold, nostalgic designs.

Ryan Vesler, HOMAGE founder and CEO, said, “It doesn’t get much better than the bold yet simple design of 1981 Topps baseball cards. That big, animated cap in the corner gave the set its signature look, and even today, it still feels vibrant.”

HOMAGE X Topps 1984 Topps Baseball Logo

The 1984 Topps-inspired designs, in particular, hold a special place in collectors’ hearts. That year’s baseball card set became legendary, featuring a clean, distinctive layout that showcased both headshots and action shots of players like Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, and Cal Ripken Jr. It was also the year collectors were chasing the coveted Don Mattingly and Darryl Strawberry rookie cards. The bold simplicity of the design, with its white borders and vertical team names, is still instantly recognizable. HOMAGE’s 1984-inspired apparel is a tribute to that era, celebrating one of Topps’ most iconic card sets in wearable form.

Vesler said: “What I love about the 1984 set is how it captured the energy of the era. It was a defining year for Topps, with a design that stuck with collectors. The clean white border, the smaller headshot in the corner, and the vertical team name on the left still stand out today.”

Now available on the Topps website, the HOMAGE x Topps Throwback Collection invites you to step back in time and relive the magic of America’s favorite pastime. Whether wearing the iconic Topps Baseball designs or the retro Topps logos from basketball, football, or soccer, each piece celebrates Topps history and brings sports culture to life in a way that only HOMAGE and Topps can. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of this unforgettable collaboration!
