Caitlin Clark’s Road to 3K Points

Clark’s Historic Career in Cards

In an electrifying Cy-Hawk showdown on December 6, 2023, college basketball’s most thrilling performer, Caitlin Clark, once again dazzled the nation. She continued her reign as the top chef of the hardwood by igniting the stove and cooking the rival Cyclones for 35 points while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out five assists. Her stellar performance secured the win and etched her name in history as the fastest D1 player in a quarter-century to reach the 3,000 career points milestone, accomplishing this feat in just 110 games. But that’s not all. She now joins an exclusive group as the 15th woman to join the 3,000-point club. She stands alone as the only D1 player ever to amass 3,000 points, snatch 750 boards, and dish out 750 assists. So, to celebrate her coronation as college basketball’s most prolific player, let’s embark on a journey through Clark’s remarkable career as documented in her Bowman U cards.

2022-23 Bowman U Chrome #50 Caitlin Clark Auto

Clark made her Bowman U debut in 2022-23, which makes this a noteworthy card. However, her introduction to the college basketball world came a few years earlier, on November 25, 2020, against Northern Iowa. With ice in her veins and destruction on her mind, the fearless freshman destroyed her foes for 27 points, eight rebounds, and four assists while leading her squad to victory. Quite the start to a career that earned her a coveted spot in Topps’ only college product — Bowman U. Check out the auto on this baby, too.

2023 BOWMAN U NOW® Card #U12 Caitlin Clark /3237

Ballin’ is a habit for Clark, whether the game counts or not. So when Iowa hosted DePaul for the “Crossover at Kinnick,” an exhibition outing played at Iowa’s football stadium, Clark dazzled per usual. With 55,646 fans in attendance – a record for an NCAA Women’s Basketball game – the floor general tallied 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 helpers. Her performance earned her the coveted BOWMAN U NOW® card above, which sold out swiftly and has a print run of only 3,237.

As the Queen City’s bright lights descended upon No. 3 Iowa and No. 8 Virginia Tech on November 9, 2023, Clark strapped the Hawkeyes to her back and carried her squad to W. The gritty guard scorched the Hokies for 44 points, tallying her ninth outing with at least 40 points, which matches the NCAA mark for most 40-pieces over the last 25 years. And check this out. The print run that came with this BOWMAN U NOW® is even more limited than the previous card on the list (2,820). Happy Hunting!

Against Northern Iowa on November 12, 2023, Clark passed Hawkeyes legend Megan Gustafson on the school’s all-time points list, joining WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu as the only player in Division 1 history with triple-doubles in four different campaigns. Of course, Topps jumped on the accomplishments, producing the BOWMAN U NOW® above. Listen, my good people. This is what success looks like!
