As of September 15, 2023, only two pitchers boasted an ERA under 3.00 and a strikeout rate exceeding 11 Ks per 9 innings: San Diego’s Blake Snell and Senga. Hailing from Japan, 30-year-old Senga secured an All-Star spot in his debut season and carved a significant place in the NL’s Cy Young contention. It’ll be interesting to see if he sticks around New York for the Mets’ rebuild.

The Rangers fight for AL West supremacy, and a playoff berth has turned into a battle that would cause King Leonidas to take a step back before indulging. Jung, an All-Star in 2023 and a new face in the Allen & Ginter fam, has played a pivotal part in the battle, putting forth a banner year and topping 20 homers and 60 RBIs for the first time in his young career.
