10: 2023 Bowman U Chrome #133 Dante Moore

A 5-star beast out of Detroit, Moore threw for nearly 10,000 yards in high school. Initially, he was all set to rock out with Phil Knight and the boys in Oregon. But enter Chip Kelly, UCLA’s main man (and Oregon’s ex-coach), who threw in some major persuasion. The result? Moore flipped to UCLA, and, man, it’s been fireworks since. In the 2023 opener against Coastal Carolina, the fearless freshman hopped off the bench, slinging two TDs and helping bag a 27-13 win for the Bruins. Now, the dude from the D has taken the reins as QB1, adding six more touchdowns to the stat sheet and leading UCLA to a 3-1 start in what looks to be a loaded Pac-12. The cherry on top? He’s the only freshman on this list and looks set to put the Boys in Westwood back on the map. His teammate, Alex Johnson, says it best: “He just turned 18, super young kid. But he knows what he’s doing. He’s gonna be a star, 100 percent.”

9: 2023 Bowman U Chrome #24 Raheim “Rocket” Sanders

Around the nation, Sanders is better known as “Rocket,” a name he’s earned thanks to the jets he uses as legs. After racing to SEC All-Freshman honors in 2021, the fleet-footed tailback upped his game the following year, zipping to 1,443 yards — the fourth-most rushing yards by a Razorbacks player — and 12 total touchdowns while standing as one of 20 FBS playmakers to average at least 100.0 rushing yards per game. He’s only played two games so far in 2023 due to injury but has already made two trips past paydirt. More should follow as he returns to fitness and serves as the bell cow in a run-first Arkansas offense.

8: 2023 Bowman U Chrome #44 Carson Beck

Entering 2023, Beck faced what many would call the Herculean task: stepping into the cleats of Stetson Bennett, the sole Georgia quarterback to lead the program to two national titles. But if one word could capture the junior signal-caller’s demeanor, it’d be ‘unfazed.’ Beck has piloted the Bulldogs to an unblemished 5-0 start, consistently delivering over 250 passing yards in each matchup—with two games even surpassing the 300 mark. Georgia’s head coach, Kirby Smart, recognized Beck’s potential early on, granting the former 4-star prospect the reins from the season’s outset. We see why. This past weekend, the Bulldogs’ QB1 quieted the storm and fans inside Auburn’s Jordan Hare Stadium, calmly leading his squad to a 27-20 comeback victory over the Tigers.

7: 2023 Bowman U Chrome #135 Quinshon Judkins

On Saturday night, LSU’s dream season spiraled into a cinematic nightmare, with Judkins hauntingly donning the mask of Michael Meyers. Happy October! The dynamic tailback mercilessly sliced through the Tigers’ defense, racking up 177 yards and clinching two scores—one on the ground and one through the air. His electrifying performance steered the Rebels to an edge-of-the-seat 55-49 victory. Rewind to 2022: as a freshman, Judkins registered the second-highest rushing yards by an SEC frosh —1,567 yards, second only to the legendary Herschel Walker. Moreover, he sprinted to 1,000 yards faster than any SEC back since Emmitt Smith’s 1987 feat and equaled an Ole Miss season record with 17 touchdowns.

6: 2023 Bowman U Chrome #139 Rome Odunze

In 2022, Odunze burst onto the national stage by racking up over 1,000 receiving yards for the first time. The captain and Vegas native didn’t rest on his success; he hit the ground running in 2023. In just his first five games, he’s sailed past 100 yards four times and currently ranks third nationally with 608 yards. Given his prowess, it’s no surprise many regard Washington’s receiving corps as the nation’s elite. Odunze stands as a testament to that claim.
